CLUB DESCRIPTION
Dana Hills High School National Honor Society
National Honor Society is the front-runner of organizations and societies that promote appropriate recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of character, scholarship, leadership, and service. Through NHS chapter service activities, members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection. Membership is thus both an honor and a commitment.
The prospective National Honor Society member has already exhibited academic achievement, leadership qualities, and an honorable, admirable character. The applicant must also demonstrate a commitment to service to both the school and the community. This commitment must show that the member is willing to use his or her talents to improve society.
The Board of Trustees desires to provide a safe school environment that allows all students equal access and opportunities in the district’s academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities. The Board prohibits, at any District school or school activity, unlawful discrimination, including discriminatory harassment, intimidation, and bullying of any student based on the student’s actual or perceived race, color, ancestry, national origin, nationality, ethnicity, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or gender expression or association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
